The NEXX X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 is the next evolution in NEXX’s elite-level racing helmet lineup. Built for riders who demand lightweight performance, high-speed stability, and refined comfort.
In this review, we break down its fit, noise control, ventilation, aerodynamics, weight, and included accessories — giving you a full overview of what makes this helmet a serious contender in the premium sportbike space.
Fit & Comfort
The X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 offers a balanced Intermediate Oval fit with race-inspired snugness. Interior padding feels refined and supportive, ideal for aggressive riding without causing hot spots. The liner is moisture-wicking, removable, and ready for long-distance use.
Noise Levels
For a race helmet, this one is surprisingly well-sealed. While not completely silent, wind noise is well managed — especially when you're tucked in. The aerodynamic shape and internal padding help reduce distractions at higher speeds.
Ventilation
Ventilation is a standout feature. Key airflow elements include:
- A large central top vent
- Dual forehead intakes
- Chin vent with internal deflection
- Rear extractors that create a true vacuum pull
Even in hot weather, this helmet flows enough air to keep you focused and cool.
Aerodynamics
Developed in a wind tunnel, the X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 slices through air with surgical precision. The integrated spoiler and sculpted lines hold firm at speed — no lift, no flutter, just clean, stable airflow whether you're straight-lining or checking your six.
Weight
Thanks to its full carbon fiber shell, the helmet weighs approximately 1350g — or just 2.97 lbs — making it one of the lightest premium race-style helmets available. Whether you’re carving canyons or stacking track sessions, the low weight helps reduce neck fatigue over time.
Looks & Design
The X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 makes a bold first impression. The exposed carbon weave is flawless, with deep clarity and a matte/high-gloss finish that screams performance. Aggressive vent channels, a sharp chinbar, and an angular spoiler give it a modern, race-bred silhouette.
Many riders have compared the X.R3R to the AGV Pista GP RR, thanks to its wide field of view, aerodynamic spoiler, and carbon-rich presence — but with a noticeably lower price tag. It's a helmet that looks just as serious as it performs.
Included Accessories
Each helmet includes:
- Pinlock insert lens
- Tinted visor (included depending on colorway)
- Spoiler extender (included depending on colorway)
These extras round out the value and make the X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 ready to go right out of the box. A great bang for your buck in my opinion.

Personal Riding Experience
Out of the box, I was genuinely impressed with the quality of the helmet. Everything looked solid and well put together. I was surprised that, for the price tag, it included all the accessories — the tinted visor, spoiler extension, and even a Pinlock insert. That’s over a $100 value most other premium helmets don’t include.
Once the accessories were installed, the helmet’s look really came together. The tinted visor and spoiler extension make it look aggressive — and I can see why some riders call this the "AGV Pista killer" for its similar silhouette at nearly half the price.
When I first tried it on, the fit was snug but expected. My head measures 56cm, so I went with a Small (55–56cm), and it broke in nicely over the course of the week.
I wore the X.R3R Pro Carbon 2 while riding my BMW S1000RR with a full Akrapovic exhaust, and after an hour-long ride, my ears weren’t ringing. That’s impressive. For comparison — if I ride in my AGV Pista GP RR without earplugs, I usually notice ringing. This helmet kept wind noise at a moderate level while still flowing a good amount of air.
What stood out the most was the weight — it almost felt like I wasn’t wearing anything at all when checking over my shoulder. The plush liner adds comfort without pressure points.
Overall, I think this is the perfect helmet for aggressive street riding. As far as calling it an AGV Pista killer — I wouldn’t go that far. The Pista is still a track-focused weapon, while this NEXX helmet is more tailored for real-world street riding with race styling. It shares the look, but offers better street usability.
I highly recommend this helmet.
